Steep Building Site Surveyor
This program was created to assist builders, laying out their structures foundation, for footing excavation, on steep building sites. If your property is level, or close to it, you don't really need this software, (Except for the fact that Building Site Surveyor is set up so that one worker may single handedly layout an entire foundation, with the use of a laser level), but if it has sloping to very steep terrain, it's a life saver. No need to install tall and level to one another, batter boards. Set your batter boards at any elevation you wish, and they may all be at different ones. No trigonometry, nor shooting angles, with a transit is required with "Building Site Surveyor"; however top of batter board elevations must be shot in, and their elevations entered on the appropriate line of the program. Just install your batter boards as normal, holding them several feet outside of the proposed building foot print, so the excavator while digging doesn't wipe them out, run string lines close to where you think the actual building might be, measure a few dimensions, shoot in the batter board elevations, and the program does the rest. It produces a report describing how far from your batter boards, along the string lines, the actual building line intersection points are. A must for steep property. Building Site Surveyor's latest version, allows the user to enter his data in feet, inches, and fractions of an inch, rather than in decimal format, and the calculated results are displayed in feet, inches, and fractions of an inch as well. Both versions are now available and listed below.
Key Benefits:
No trigonometry, nor shooting angles with the transit, are required.
Batter boards can be placed at any elevation.
A builder can, with the aid of a laser level, single handedly layout an entire structure.
