The KoeSoft Construction Software Company started out with virtually one person, and has expanded to three primary contributors, several office personel (most are part time), and at the moment four, three to five man programming teams (All four of which were discovered by out-sourceing, and are each a Microsoft certified programmer). The three primaries (Myself Robert, Thomas, and Kile), have each been in the construction industry all our lives, and each of us owns his own business or two. Kile and I both own cabinet shops, and Thomas and I are both general building contractors. Thomas is also an electrical contractor. However the main similarity between the three of us is we have all been working with computers since the tail end of the 1970's. I had to laugh when I remembered that punch card computers were still in use when I got my first computer. The three of us are fair at programming, and our life long experiences in the construction and wood working industries have spawned lots of ideas for software programs. The program that gave me the kick start in the software business was an unorthidoxed foundation layout technique which due to it's many many formulas and algorithms requires the use of a computer. Without which the technique might take all day to run. Kile's first major software title was a cut list calculating program for cabinets, which is how we met. I too was working on a cabinet cut list program, and we started comparing notes, and soon became good friends, and business associates. Now, most of our software is written by our MS certified teams, since the code and technology have grown much faster than my programming experience has, and it's really for the best, since it gives me more time to come up with new ideas for software titles.
