Cabinets Plus! Introduction
 Cabinets Plus! is a full-featured cabinet creation, and cabinet design software package. It is designed for the small to medium sized cabinet shop, and wood working enthusiast intent upon utilizing woodworking software for his business or hobby. By utilizing photo realistic cabinet CAD features into its CAD enabled design wizards it becomes a very powerful tool for both day to day cabinet shop activities, and for client presentation concerns. Cabinets Plus! cabinet software is configured of five cabinet construction, and cabinet job estimating etc. modules, all of which are included in your purchase of Cabinets Plus! The cabinet design software module consists of a graphic user interface, which displays a choice of 9 different viewing modes. Plus three dynamic cabinet design software wizards. There is the traditional Face Frame Cabinet Design Wizard, a Face Frame with Dado and Rabbet options Cabinet Design Wizard, and a Frame less or European style with Dado and Rabbet options Cabinet Design Wizard. The cabinet maker while designing his project has at all times a view of the perfectly scaled cabinet rendering as it is being created. Every change or addition to the project is recorded, and may be viewed by referring to the graphic rendering. In 2D or Flat mode, it can be viewed from all six directions. In Wire Frame 3D or X-ray mode the user may use specific icon tools, or drag with the mouse, to pan or move the project to any conceivable position, and may closely inspect how the various components are placed, or configured. The same holds true for 3-D Solid Colors Mode, and 3-D Wood Grain Texture Mode. Solid mode shows the project in 3D, but with user selectable colors for the various components, and Texture mode also shows the project in 3D, but with user selectable wood grained or other textures, which are accessed from the texture library. The user can select from the textures provided, or add his own to the library (Photographic image files of wood grain). When the proper wood grained textures are selected and added to the rendering, the final 3D output is virtually photo realistic quality.

Cabinets Plus! Design Features
 Cabinets Plus! is capable of kitchen cabinet design, bathroom cabinet design, home entertainment cabinet design, closet cabinetry design, and pretty much any type of cabinet designing you need. The prime design view is an elevation showing the current wall that has focus. Our kitchen cabinet design software allows an infinite number of cabinet modules. Your project can be from one to one million modules wide. All this is accomplished by using the programs Dynamic Design Wizards. To design a project you select an appropriate wizard from the wizard library. You can add to this library with your own custom wizards; which you easily create for a specific cabinet style of yours. This makes the design process very quick since all your settings as far as stile and rail widths etc are already configured. The design wizards are dynamic in that they only bring up the specific steps required of the project. They're basically Smart Wizards. Once the wizard is completed all that remains to do is assign the materials from your inventory database and at that point a cut list, optimizer list, material list, etc may be viewed and or printed. If you have a kitchen, bath, or other cabinet making project coming up, Cabinets Plus! will probably pay for itself in a single project. The Cut List is meticulous, and figures each and every wood part that goes into cabinet construction. Your raised panel doors will be calculated exactly, and even take into account the user selectable expansion gap distance between the raised panel and the dado of the stiles and rails. All the drawer box parts are calculated as well, including the drawer front's stiles, rails, and panel. It even calculates the length of the rear and top mounting strips or stretchers. The cut list may be viewed in either Standard / Imperial increments, or in Metric increments. Another plus to Cabinets Plus! is the flexibility the user has over his cabinet project. The program offers many many options for various design features. Features for instance like: "Each and every face frame stile and or rail may be a different width." Panel and Board Layout Optimizer / Material Lists
 
The Panel and Board Layout Optimizer is one of a kind. It of course takes into account grain direction, whether or not you trim a slight amount off of your panels before ripping them to size, and it even takes into account the kerf of your table saw or panel saw blade. You may also instruct it as to how you would like the drops treated. If you need long narrow drops or short but wide drops. The user may also move the parts manually if so desired. The optimizer is an integral part of Cabinets Plus! and will not allow you to cut your panels incorrectly. Hand the optimizer print out to your shop forman, and armed with that, the cut list, and the drawing he has everything he needs to build your cabinet project.
The screen shot below shows the Optimizer Module and is optimizing parts being cut from multiple pieces of 3/4" X 10" X 48" long solid Red Oak. The lengths are short for your viewing purposes. The optimizer will optimize any rectangular shaped object, be it a sheet of plywood, or a long narrow piece or pieces of hardwood for your face frame, or door stiles and rails. The objects lower left numbered 1 through 9 are the filled boards. The Optimizer fills each rectangle and starts a new one until all the parts have been placed. Also you may want any drops from the boards or sheets to be long and narrow rather than short and wide. Cabinets Plus!'s Optimizer can set this up for you as well. You can view or print any optimized part of your project simply by clicking on it (Upper left part of screen shot). You can also find all the copies of a specific part by clicking either on the main graphic (Lower Right) or by clicking on it in the list (Upper Right). That part becomes the active part and will show up as a different color (We chose Red) in the list at left and the main graphic.
Once the optimizer had done its work a Material list may be viewed in the Part Total Module. The topmost screen shot below shows all Sheet Goods required for the project, and the one below it shows Dimensioned Lumber required. A Project Cost Summary can be viewed in the same module.

Cut List
Cabinets Plus! generates a detailed cut list including every wood part that goes into a cabinet. The screen shot below is a partial cut list. Most lists average more than three or four hundred parts. The cut list includes the following :
- Part number
- Part Description
- Quantity and Dimensions
- Material Type and Species
- Module Number and Rotatability (Grain Direction Rotation)

CNC Export Features
Cabinets Plus! will generate a text file which is readable by most G code compilers. This feature has many options including the availability of a large list of delimiters, or you can create your own custom delimiters for both the values and the row headings. The screen shot below left is a partial export file using a Windows format with TAB delimiters. The screen shot below right is the export setup menu. In the setup menu you have the option of including or not including parts, sizes, and specifications into the export file. The Row Delimiter formats for either Windows, Mac, Linux or Custom format. The Value delimiter formats using: Space, Comma, Semicolon, Tab or make up your own Custom delimiter. The file is generated and saved to your Cabinets Plus! directory by default, or to any other location on your computer.

Cabinets Plus! Modules
DESIGN (Included with purchase): The dynamic design wizard walks you through every stage of cabinet creation, and only requests information that is needed for the particular cabinet project being designed. Also we have recently added a European style or Frame less design wizard to Cabinets Plus! including dado and rabbet depth options for those shops that dado and rabbet their cabinet boxes together. So now it is capable of both Face Frame and Frame less cabinetry. We are constantly upgrading our products with input or ideas from our customers. Another recently added feature is to be able to point at any part during the design phase and see its calculated dimensions without having to complete the design process. Point the cursor at the back panel of the cabinet, or even one of the doors stiles, and the parts name, length, width, thickness, and specs are displayed on the screen just below the project rendering.
CUT LIST (Included with purchase): The cabinet cut list module is fed information from the design wizard, and creates a detailed cut list consisting of every conceivable part. The cut list is quite flexible and can be added to, or edited if required. Each part in the cut list includes its quantity, dimensions, part number, description of the part, its sub assembly, material type (Sheet goods, dimensioned lumber, etc), the wood species (Red Oak, Honduras Mahogany, etc), the item in the inventory data base from which it will be cut, and lastly whether or not it can be rotated for optimization purposes. Also if at the last minute you wish to add something to the list you may do so, and have it included in the cost summary report as well as the layout optimizer.
PANEL AND BOARD LAYOUT OPTIMIZER (Included with purchase): The board and sheet optimizer takes information from both inventory, and the cut list, to produce a graphical view of all the cabinet parts on their respective material unit. Depending upon what unit you have in your inventory database, the optimizer will portray a scale rendering of that unit. For instance a 4 X 8 foot sheet of plywood, or a half 4 X 4 sheet. It even does boards as a 1 X 10 inch by 14 feet long piece of Red Oak. This way you can see the best way to cut up your expensive materials. The optimizer continues to place parts into the sheet or board until it is full. When full it starts a new unit, until all your parts are placed. This is how Cabinets Plus! creates your material list also. Making it a very accurate list and cost summary.
ACCOUNTING AND REPORTS (Included with purchase): The accounting module produces material take offs, and cost summary reports. As mentioned in Module 3 above the material list is created with the optimizer; which places parts in each unit until all parts have been placed. At that point it knows how many sheets and boards are required to complete the project, and generates an accurate cost summary.
INVENTORY DATABASE'S (Included with purchase): Materials module consists of two database's for entering your shop inventory etc, as well as input sections for your table saw kerf and trim setup etc.
These five modules work in unison to make your job easier, by first configuring the project with the design wizard, then printing reports for the cutlist, optimizer, accounting, and material database. This allows you to concentrate on building the cabinets rather than dealing with the material inventory or parts calculations. And "User friendly" is Cabinets Plus's middle name, with a close to zero percentage learning curve.
INCREMENTS AND CURRENCY DYNAMICS: Cabinets Plus! is capable of both Metric and Standard/Imperial increments. At virtually any part of the program the user may easily and quickly switch over from one to another. The currency symbol and format may also be changed from the US dollar, to the Lira, Pound, or Mark. This is very helpful for our overseas customers.
